You may have noticed solicitations for a list of essentials to have at home in case of emergencies..  Usually this costs about $30 to $40 for a list from the internet..

Over time we have put together the following:

We don't have an escape kit or tent but have come up with a list for things to have at home in case of storms, food, electrical and gas interuptions.

Kytadyn water filter from Switzerland, about $380. delivered.  It will product about a quart of good drinking water/minute.  If minimal debris, this unit good for about 13,000 gallon before you need a new filter.
Batteries  AA/AAA with recharger; C & Ds  with farthest out expiration date available
Candles
Bounty, toilet paper, Dawn, Windex, cleanser and Bon Ami
Salt, Celtic and fleur de sel (many trace elements & clean)
Bleach
Beans, rice & wheat.  Einkorn for celiacs.  Walnuts, raisins, olives, sesame seeds, garlic.  Olive oil, coconut oil, & walnut oil
Tools appropriate for your property repairs, etc.
Generator + gas and gas stove.  SAE oils and SAE oils, non-detergent.
Dehydrator for seasonal fruits & veggies.  Operates at 105 degrees or less to keep the nutrients of the fresh.
Canned items, fish, meat, etc.
Tea, chamomile, green, hibiscus.  The hibiscus is good for lowering blood pressure because of potassium content.
Vitamin C bulk and tablets. Other supplements and pharma stuff to last for a period for which you are comfortable.

This is a list for our situation.  We grow our own herbs and veggies so we also have spent chicken manure and 45% phosphate.  We do not use herbicides or pesticides.  We grow nastursiums around our garden and let dill come up every where.  For aphids and other pests, we use USP diatamaceus earth and pyrethrum for flying pests.  We have a standup freezer with the freon going through the shelves for a quick freeze and a 19 cubic food freezer for longer storage.  We buy our meats locally, cut to our specifications using only those animals who are eating well and moving free range.

It was my pleasure to speak at the United Astrology Congress in New Orleans on May 27th.  The subject covered a long research project (over twenty years) for astrological elections.  This involves using the outer planet midpoints both natally and by transit for important first steps.  The new symbolism is as follows:  Neptune/Pluto symbolism represents major expansion; the Uranus/Pluto midpoint represents administrative abilities; and the Uranus/Neptune represents endings.

If anyone wants a CD version or an MP3 of this lecture (55'), please let me know at richardnelson853@gmail.com.  If you can digitally receive an MP3, this will be sent at no charge.  A CD will cost you $10. for handling and shipping.

GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms

President Obama promised to pursue labeling for GMOs in a speech given in 2007.  To date this has not happened.  My prior post lists a link to GMO free products.  Today I noticed a no GMO label on Rumford's Baking Powder.

A helpful source is Seeds of Deception by Jeffrey M. Smith.

Hello everyone,

My name is Richard Nelson.  My wife and I moved to Colorado  a year ago to what the locals call The Banana Belt, a joke at first to people from Miami, FL. In many ways we find it is.  We have no hurricanes or twisters and it is mild at our 5,000 feet altitude compared to much higher ground nearby.  The snow on the mountains is available as melt from May through October.  We are on a mesa where some early settlers found a way to divert water from the Uncompragre River to most of us.  We have an underground distribution sprinkler system to all of our half acre plot.

We put in a 10 KW solar collector which is covering all of our electric.

The main reason for coming here was to be closer to family and also to avoid the Genetic Engineering (GE) and Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) that were pervasive in our earlier location.  We bought many varieties of Heritage seeds and are planting them as soon as weather allows.  We try to avoid boxes and canned items in the store.  Can't do that all the time.

We were thrilled to find a list of verified goods at Mercola.com and hope you can use it for your needs.

Sincerely,
Richard Nelson
